Gynecomastia

Gynecomastia is a common medical condition in which a male's breasts are abnormally large. The enlargement of breast is often associated with puberty, however, in about 90% of cases, the symptoms will disappear spontaneously. In patients with gynecomastia, the breasts remain large and is a constant source of personal shame. About one in three men are predisposed to having excess fat in their chest. Although there are potential causes of gynecomastia such as medications or some medical conditions, most often the cause remains unknown. For these patients, the SmartLipo Laser is often the best option to treat their condition.

SmartLipo Liposculture

Having the surgery to correct the condition can result in an extraordinary reversal of low self-esteem, leading to increased self- confidence and a dramatic improvement in body image. Unlike traditional gynecomastia surgery, liposculpture for your chest is quick, easy, and virtually painless...

After analysis of the problem, the patient is diagramed using a marker so that the doctor can custom shape your chest area in the most ideal fashion. Patients are then given lidocaine to numb the skin. There is no general anesthesia. You can chat with the doctor or assistants during the procedure or simply relax and listen to music, it is your choice.

After the local numbing takes place, a combination of laser Smartlipo, and/or ultrasound assisted lipolysis is used with the ultra small suction cannulas to produce not only the best results, but the quickest recovery time possible. After the SmartLipo procedure, you can be assured that your appearance will be improved and the majority of fat in your chest will be removed. Nevertheless, the appearance of your chest will be determined by the pectoral muscle and the amount of glandular tissue in your chest. Age, health, and scope of the procedure are all determining factors in the recovery. You will wear a compression garment for a week. In some cases our patients might feel more comfortable wearing the garment after this period for exercising. At our facility we notice swelling typically lasts for a few days. No stitches are required after the procedure; the small holes will heal quickly on their own. Most patients typically take about 2 days off before returning to work. If your work requires the use of your chest more physical activity, it may take a couple of days before you feel comfortable enough to return to work.Having the surgery to correct the condition can result in an extraordinary reversal of low self-esteem, leading to increased self- confidence and a dramatic improvement in body image.
